Purpose and Profile:
To manage a team of Payroll controllers and administrators ensuring that we deliver first class service to our clients. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to client service agreements and all standard procedures. Managing your team through coaching, performance management and mentoring will be a major part of your role. In addition accuracy and attention to detail are vital when operating payroll so you will be expected to ensure your team achieve our demanding quality standards at all times.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for all configuration and testing activities, this includ:

  • Ensuring all client queries are managing through to a successful resolution within the agreed timescale
  • Achieving all client performance standards for payroll processing accuracy
  • Holding monthly conference calls with your clients producing minutes for each and ensuring that all actions raised at these forums are resolved within SLA
  • Pro-actively managing all other communications with your clients to ensure that you gain the trust and respect of each client
  • Point of escalation in relation to any process jeopardising service delivery
  • Developing the skills of your team through frequent coaching sessions and ongoing guidance and support
  • Managing the performance of your team through bi-annual performance review meetings
  • Identify any staff training needs and work with the Training Officer to ensure appropriate training is arranged
  • Produce weekly and monthly KPI reports based on % accuracy and service delivery
  • Conduct audits of your teams output to ensure that all checks and controls are being adhered to
  • Identify any control weaknesses and action as appropriate

Essential Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Good understanding of Payroll, minimum 3 years experience in a payroll environment
  • A minimum of 1 years previous experience of supervising/managing in a service delivery role
  • Ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Planning and organising skills
  • A progressive approach to change and improvement
  • Ability to think logically and solve problems effectively
  • Have a 'can do' attitude
  • Work well as part of a team

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in managing client queries and complaints
  • Evidence of continued professional development/learning since finishing full time education
