ICS Computing exhibit at Northern Ireland CIPFA Conference

2nd October 2007

ICS Computing was in full attendance at the CIPFA Northern Ireland Conference which was held in the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle, Co Down on the 27th and 28th September.

The event entitled "Delivering More with Less - Surviving the Big Squeeze" was launched with the announcement that Sir Gerry Robinson, business supremo and aspiring Health Service fixer provided the opening address.

The CIPFA conference has a reputation for providing top level speakers and this year was no different. Sir Gerry Robinson is one of the United Kingdom's most successful businessmen with strong views on leading public bodies. More recently, Sir Gerry has established a media career presenting the BBC TV series 'I'll Show Them Who's Boss' and 'Can Gerry Robinson Fix the NHS?'

Money for public services is tight and becoming tighter. The 2007 Conference addressed issues such as how much further change to public services can realistically be delivered as the rate of growth in funding and resources slows down and is the squeeze on public services becoming almost unbearable?

The conference attracted 250 delegates including chief executives, directors, heads of internal audit and a variety of senior executives from across the public services.
