ICS Computing scoop prestigious EFQM Award at the Northern Ireland Quality Awards

01 February 2008

ICS Computing turned out in force for The Northern Ireland Quality Awards, organised by the Centre for Competitiveness yesterday evening.

The event which was held in the Ramada Hotel in Belfast is the premier business event in Northern Ireland and recognises organisations that have demonstrated excellence in their overall business performance. Only twelve companies celebrated success at the event and ICS Computing was one of these organisations.

Claire Colvin, HR Manager of ICS Computing said, “We are delighted to win this award. It is a testament to the effort put in by our employees to ensure that we maintain high standards throughout the organisation in everything that we do. We are able to do this by regularly and consistently reviewing our business processes, improving communication across the organisation, identifying areas of improvement as well as benchmarking against other organisations."

As the National Partner for EFQM in Northern Ireland, Centre for Competitiveness has sole responsibility for administering the awards process based on the EFQM Excellence model. Depending on the level of recognition applied for the process varies slightly. However in all cases, independent assessors from the private, public and voluntary sectors verify the evidence supplied by the organisation and interview members of staff to compare with the EFQM’s model of Business Excellence. A panel of independent judges then takes final decisions.
